A HOUSTON COUNTY RINK
RULES OF THE COMPETITION
FOR PLAYDOWNS AND FINAL

  1. The Finals of the competition is played on a green in the District of the President of the current year.

 

  1. In the Round Robin stages, it will be decided between Districts as to the number of ends being played, with no trial ends and a team toss for the jack, and one shot being allowed at the first end.

 

  1. Four rinks will play for each District in each match.

 

  1. Up to two players may be replaced in each District, after the first game, by players from a MAXIMUM POOL OF 18 PLAYERS per District.

 

  1. Position changes may be allowed after the first game. No position changes will be allowed during a game.

 

  1. All players to be identified prior to the start with name, club and date of birth.

 

  1. All players must be under 17 on 1 April in the current year.

 

  1. Greens and rinks will be drawn on the day.

 

  1. The winner of each match will be decided on TOTAL SHOTS, with 2 points being awarded for a win, 1 point for a draw.

 

  1. The winner who will go forward to the County Rink finals will be the District with the HIGHEST NUMBER OF POINTS.

 

Should two or more District finish with equal points the aggregate shots up will be used to determine the winners. (Aggregate shots up being the total shots won in all matches minus the total shots lost in all matches).

 

In the event of two District finishing equal on points and aggregate shots up the result of the match between both Districts will be used to determine the winner.

 

Should more than two Districts finish equal on points and aggregate shots up the number of winning rinks, then the number of ends won in all matches will be used to determine the winners.
